Dattatreya was the son of mother Anusuiya and Sage Atri. Dattatreya was equipped with the powers of Trinity God’s Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva. Inspite of being so powerful Dattatreya remained a prey to Brahm Kaal and could not be liberated from his web.

This article will throw light on whether Dattatreya was supreme power or not. Why did he remain deprived of attaining emancipation? While discussing the following

  • Examination of Chastity of Mother Anusuiya
  • Birth of Lord Dattatreya
  • Who is Supreme, Krishna or Dattatreya?
  • Who was Guru of Dattatreya?

Examination Of Chastity Of Mother Anusuiya

Sati Anusuiya was the wife of Sage Atri who was famous for her loyalty to her husband and beauty. One day God of Sages Narad Ji went to meet Lord Vishnu in Vishnu Lok. Shri Vishnu Ji was not at home. Goddess Laxmi was alone at home.  During the conversation with Goddess Laxmi, Sage Narad highly glorified the beauty and loyalty of Devi Anusuiya for her husband, Sage Attri due to which Laxmi Ji got jealous of Anusuiya and started thinking about a tactic to dissolve the chastity of Anusuiya.

Then Narad Ji left from there and went to the realm of Shiva/ Shankar Ji intending to meet him. There also Goddess Parvati was at home. Shri Shiv Ji was not at home. Shri Narad Ji highly glorified the beauty and loyalty of Sati Anusuiya to Goddess Parvati during a conversation and later departed to Brahmalok. Goddess Parvati got jealous of Anusuiya. Who is that loyal wife on earth who is being discussed in all worlds? Goddess Parvati also started thinking about the procedure to dissolve the chastity of Anusuiya.

When sage Narad Ji reached the realm of Shri Brahma Ji then Goddess Savitri, wife of Lord Brahma was all alone at home. Shri Brahma Ji was not present. There also Sage Narad highly glorified the beauty and loyalty of Sati Anusuiya and later departed. Goddess Savitri also got jealous of Anusuiya and started thinking about ways to dissolve the chastity of Sati Anusuiya.

All three Goddesses (Savitri, Laxmi and Parvati) met with each other after some time and discussed, how can the chastity of Anusuiya be dissolved. None of the three Goddesses was willing to accept the truth that there could be some more beautiful female than them on earth who is famous for her loyalty as well.

Intending to examine Anysuiya, the Trinity Goddesses took a pledge from their husbands Trinity Gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva to dissolve the loyalty of Anusuiya. All three gods acquired the form of a sage and went to meet Anusuiya.

Sati Anusuiya greeted them warmly and served them wholeheartedly. God in sage form demanded alms from Anusuiya saying ‘She should feed them milk by getting naked'. Anusuiya understood their foul intention. She had accomplishments hence, she converted the three Gods into a small kid of 6-6 months each. Then she fed them milk.

After a long while, when triple gods did not return to their realms then goddess Savitri, Laxmi, and Parvati got worried. They started searching for their husbands. They discussed with sage Narad about the same, who suggested they should apologize to Devi Anusuiya.

Birth of Dattatreya

Trinity Goddesses went to Sati Anusuiya and apologised when they saw their husbands as kids rocking in the cradle. Anusuiya forgave them all and converted child-form Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva to their original form with her power.

Then Sage Atri saluted the Trinity gods. Pleased with the loyalty of Anusuiya Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva told them to ask for a boon. Sage Atri requested them to bless them with a son who possesses qualities of Three Gods, who should be equipped with similar powers like them.

Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva granted him the same boon. Then mother Anusuiya and Sage Atri obtained a son named Dattatreya who had three faces, one resembling Shri Brahma, second to Shri Vishnu and third to Shri Shiva Ji.

Who is Supreme, Krishna Or Dattatreya?

Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are in the cycle of birth and death possessing very limited powers. They can only provide work done. Evidence of the same has been mentioned in Durga Puran and Shiva Puran. Similarly, Dattatreya also possessed very limited powers.

It has been mentioned in Srimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter 18 Verses 62 and 66 that the supreme God is some other who resides in eternal abode. He is the creator of entire universes and is the provider of salvation. The knowledge giver of Gita means Brahm Kaal reveals the most secretive information that ‘that supreme God is his revered God as well'. Seekers aspiring to attain God must go to the refuge of an enlightened saint and do true devotion till their last breath to attain salvation.

Pious Vedas and Gita describe the qualities of that Supreme God.

  • Rigveda Mandal 9 Sukt 1 Mantra 9
  • Rigveda Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 18
  • Rigveda Mandal 9 Sukt 93 Mantra 2.
  • Rigveda Mandal 10 Sukt 4 Mantra 3
  • Gita Ch.2:17 and 15:17 and at several other places

The name of the Supreme God is KavirDev. He is the God of God.

Hence proved, that neither Shri Krishna nor Dattatreya is Supreme.

Who Was Guru of Dattatreya?

Salvation cannot be attained without a guru. Dattatreya was well familiar with this truth hence, was deep in search of a complete guru and had made 24 gurus. At last, he was blessed to have acquired Satpurush in Jogjeet form as his guru. Dattatreya took initiation from an enlightened saint in Jogjeet form. He received Satnam and did true devotion. He did not receive Sarnam because God had to keep Sarnam hidden till the middle generation of Kalyuga had passed means till 5505 years as per God’s commitment to Brahm Kaal.

With the devotion told by God Kabir in Jogjeet form, Dattatreya became eligible for the attainment of salvation but by not getting the complete course of salvation he could not be liberated from the web of Brahm Kaal and could not reach to God’s realm as is evident from this speech uttered from the lotus mouth of Sacchidanand ghan Brahm.

Narad Muni niratay rahe, Datt Gorakh se ko suchcha hai|

Badi sail adham sultan kari, Satguru takiya tuk ooncha hai||

In pious scripture, Sadgranth Sahib respected Sant Garib Das Ji Maharaj has written in ‘Parakh Ke Ang' speech no. 52

Garib, durvasa aur Muninder ka, Hua Gyan samwad | Dutt Tatv mein mil gaye, na ghar vidhya na baad ||

Conclusion

The aforementioned proves that the devotion in Kaal’s realm is inappropriate in attaining salvation.

  • Sati Anusuiya despite having accomplishments gained performing meditation could not be liberated nor her husband Sage Atri.
  • Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are demigods and possess very limited powers.
  • Devi Anusuiya converted Trinity Gods to 6-month-old kids and they could not do anything.
  • Even Trinity Goddesses Savitri, Laxmi, and Parvati were less powerful than Devi Anusuiya; they could neither stop Anusuiya from converting their husbands into kids nor bring them back to their original form.
  • Vices like ego, jealousy, hunger for fame and like prevail even in God’s of Brahm Kaal.
  • Neither is God Dattatreya nor Shri Krishna the supreme power.
  • The Supreme God is Satpurush Kabir Sahib.

Today, Almighty Kabir has incarnated yet again and is playing divine spectacle in the cover of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and is granting Satnam and Sarnam. All seekers who will take initiation from Him and will do true devotion till their last breath and will remain in the decorum of true devotion will become eligible to reach to their native abode, the eternal world, Satlok having gone where seekers never return to the sorrowful world of Satan Kaal rather will relish a comfortable and happy life forever.
