India, the land of sages and saints is widely famous for its holy powers and spirituality across the globe. It has tremendously impacted people aspiring to attain God for several Eras. The mythological history of India reveals several true stories of great sages who tried hard to attain God by performing severe austerity.
But the miraculous history of those several sages/ saints reveals that despite worshipping for ages, those steadfast devotees failed to attain the sole purpose of human life which is doing true devotion to Almighty Kabir and attaining salvation rather they remained trapped in the vicious cycle of birth-rebirth.
The reason being those sages/ saints did arbitrary worship all through their life which was not supported in ancient authentic holy scriptures like Holy Vedas and Srimad Bhagavad Gita due to which they remained prey to Satan and could not be liberated from his web.
In this inspiring article, we will share the true story of one great sage well known by the name Shukadeva/ Sukhdev who did devotion aiming to attain emancipation but by not finding a true spiritual master/ Satguru, he wasted his whole precious human life in doing devotion against the injunctions of holy scriptures and despite gaining accomplishments remained trapped in the web of Satan Kaal hence, remained deprived in the attainment of God. He suffered in 84 lacs life forms with the practice he performed.
So let’s get started and delve deep into the facts mentioned in Sacchidanand Ghan Brahm’s Speech (Suksham Veda) and know all about Sukhdev (Shukadeva) Rishi based on the following

Who was Shukadeva?
Shukadeva was a great sage and a worshiper of Lord Vishnu during Tretayuga who was born to Vatika and the great sage Ved Vyas who is the writer of the pious four Vedas and Puranas. Sage Sukhdev was the contemporary of King Janak, the father of Sita Ji and father-in-law of Shri Ramchandra during Treta Yuga. Sage Shukadeva (Totaram, Shuka means Parrot and Dev means God/Ram) has an interesting story behind his naming so, which will be discussed ahead. Sage Sukhdev/ Shukadeva had accomplishments gained through meditation/ Hatha Yoga/ severe austerity he did, which led him to attain Heaven, the temporary dwelling realm but failed to attain complete liberation. Also, he became a donkey with the arbitrary worship he did along with suffering in hell.
So the question arises, what was wrong with Shukadeva’s way of devotion and what is the correct way of worship with which a seeker attains salvation? Before we proceed to answer this most enduring question let us know about the true story of the origin of sage Shukadeva. Let’s read facts supporting the aforementioned from Suksham Veda.

Story Of The Origin Of Shukadev
Ref: Suksham Veda Sumiran ka Ang, Speech No. 70:-
Garib, Shukdev sukh mein upje, raayee seeng samoyee। Navnath aru siddh chaurasi, sangi upjai Thai doyee ।।70।।
Meaning:– when Lord Shiva gave the immortal mantra to Goddess Parvati, at that time there was a dry tree in one place. They sat beneath it. The reason was that if any other creature may hear this immortal mantra then he might also become immortal and if an evil-creature will be equipped with spiritual accomplishments then he will misuse it and will harass good people. Therefore, all Gurus grant mantras to only the capable disciples in a lonely place.
Lord Shiva clapped which produced a loud terrifying sound. The animals and birds around got scared and went far. The dry tree was chosen because if any bird comes it will be seen immediately. The female Parrot had laid eggs in its hollow trunk. One egg was unhealthy, the rest were healthy. They became birds merely by the sound of Shankar Ji’s clapping and flew away. The rotten egg remained. The creature who had obtained that egg was sitting inside it. He was waiting for the egg to mature and himself attain a body.
As the parents accept the baby to be their own as soon as it comes into the womb, in the same way, the creature believes the body or the egg to be its own in which it enters. After death, after performing the last rites of cremation in the crematory the near and dear ones flow the left over bones and ash in deep rivers which is called ‘picking up bones (flower)’. It’s because whichever creature had been in that human body (male or female), he had more affection for it.
Like, If a human suffers from an incurable disease then he spends his entire wealth for its protection. The body seems so dear. After death, if that creature does not get a body then he goes to the life-form of a Phantom. He remains in a subtle body as a ghost. He gets his account done in the court of Dharamraj.
In case he gets the life-form of a Phantom then he comes back to his house and tries to meet and talk to his family members. He says ‘Why are you crying? I have come. But being in the subtle body neither the family members could see him nor could hear his voice. Then the other phantoms tell him that they are not able to see you because your body of flesh and bones is no more.
Then the Phantom goes to search for his body in the crematory. There his body is burnt. He considers the remaining ash to be his own. He sticks to them. When they pick those ashes/ bones and go to flow them in the river still that creature continues to stick to them. He separates from it after they are flown in the river.
Most of the Phantoms remain there, and a few return along with their family members. If the ashes are not picked up then he camps in the crematory becoming a ghost, but those who have taken shelter from God Kabir do not become ghosts/ Phantoms. The ones who had not taken initiation and had not done devotion after taking initiation from a Satguru become a Phantom and keep wandering nearby, at times in crematory, or in house or fields or whatever is the business. They trouble the family members or others. Therefore, he became a Phantom with the devotion told by fake gurus. Then to set him, the ritual (tradition) started to pick the ash/ bones and flow them in the river.
In case, someone returns from Haridwar, ‘Har Ki Pauri’ and troubles the family then they start the tradition for his liberation. They started celebrating his Thirteenth, Seventeenth, monthly, six-monthly, and then yearly. Yet, it did not work.
When the ghost troubles then they start carrying out his/her Shraadh. Now, he has become a deceased ancestor. Family members offer ‘Pind’ for his attainment and so on activities were imposed on the family members
With the same disposition, that creature stuck with an egg.
Shukadeva Gained Accomplishments Hearing True Spiritual Knowledge
Shri Shiva Ji narrated the story of the Supreme God to Parvati Ji that he had heard from Almighty Kabir. Then he told the first mantra to Devi Parvati Ji and explained the secret of lotuses. Parvati Ji got into meditation. Earlier she was doing ‘Yes-Yes’ (hmm-hmm) later that rotten egg became healthy and became the baby Parrot and started saying ‘Yes-Yes’. Noticing the difference in the voice Shiva Ji looked at Parvati Ji. She was in a deep meditation state.
It has been mentioned in Suksham Veda
Garib, Parbati ke urr dharya, Amar bhayee kshan maahee|
Sukhdev ki chaurasi mitee, niralamb nij naam||
When Shri Shiv Ji saw from divine vision within then he noticed that the Parrot had heard the entire knowledge. Shiva Ji stood to kill that Parrot but he flew away, now that he gained accomplishments hearing true spiritual knowledge and mantras. Shiva Ji also started following him via the Sky route.
Birth of Shukadeva As A Son To Sage Veda Vyasa
When the wife of Sage Ved Vyas yawned then that Parrot creature went inside the womb of Sage’s wife via her mouth. He discarded the body of the Parrot there itself. Shiva Ji was observing everything. Shiva Ji said to the wife of Ved Vyas Ji that a thief of my knowledge and devotional mantra is in your womb. He has heard the immortal story. He has also become eternal (Whatever immortality is attained with that mantra). Vyas Ji also came there and saluted Shiva Ji. When he got to know the reason for his arrival then he said ‘O Bholenath! You are saying that he has become immortal. If that creature has become immortal then you cannot kill him. You won’t be able to kill him inside the womb at all. Listening to this Shiva Ji went away. He awakened Parvati Ji from meditation and went to his residence.
The place where Shiva Ji gave the immortal mantra to Parvati Ji that place is known by the name ‘Amarnath’.
Naming Of Shukadeva
The child was not born to the wife of Vyas Ji for 12 years. The three Gods (Shri Brahma Ji, Shri Vishnu Ji, and Shri Shiva Ji came to the hut of sage Vyas and said to the creature sitting inside the womb that you take birth and come out. The creature knows about his previous births inside the womb. The creature said ‘Lords! Your illusion (effect of qualities/ Trigunmayee Maya) lets the creature forget things as soon as the creature comes out. The creature forgets his purpose. You stop your illusion (Maya) for a few moments then I will come out’. Vyas Ji's wife said ‘There is a boy in my womb.
I do not have any problem. This boy has given me happiness. I will name him ‘Sukhdev’. All the three Gods named him ‘Shukadev’ because he was equipped with the power of devotion in the body of a Parrot. (Shuk in Sanskrit means Parrot). The three Gods said ‘O Sukhdev! We can only stop the power of our qualities (Trigunmayee Maya) for this much time, till a mustard seed can stay on the horns of a cow or a buffalo (for a fraction of a second) meaning it falls the moment it is kept.
Shukdev said, "Fine! do the same. The three Gods stopped the power of their qualities for one moment/ second. Shukadev came out of the womb.
It is said:
Teeno deva thumbi maya aur Sukhdev udar se bahar aaya||
Sukhdev Sukh mein upje raayee seeng samoye||
9 nath aur siddh 84 sang upje the doyee||
Then the three Gods went. 93 other children were born at that time. All those and Shukadeva remembered their purpose in life. All of them became great devotees-saints and perfect men. Out of them, 9 became famous as ‘Naths’ and 84 became perfect and one became Shukdev.
Shukadeva Renounced His Parents
The moment Shukadeva came out from his mother’s womb his body became 12 years old. He put his umbilical cord on his shoulder and walked away.
Note: The cord of the Mother’s navel that is attached to the navel of the child. The child’s nourishment happens through it via the body of the mother. Its length is almost one foot.
Shukadeva thought he would cut it and throw it away at a far distance. The reason was that Shukadeva did not want his attachment to his family to increase and that he would not be able to do devotion if he got attached to his parents.
It has been mentioned in Sacchidanand Ghan Brahm speech
Tan dhar sukhiya koi na dekhya jo dekhya so dukhiya ho|
Uday ast ki baat karat hai, meine sab ka kiya viveka ho|| Sukhdev ne dukh ke dar se garbh mein maya tyagi ho||
On the other side sage Vyas said, "Son! We waited for 12 years for your birth. You are ready to go. What happiness did we see in the son? You do not go renouncing the home. Shukadeva said ‘Rishi Ji! Despite being the knower of Vedas and a Scholar you are still trapped in the swamp of affection? You are even trying to trap me? I remember my previous births. You became my father many times. I became your father many times. We have suffered many times in the cycle of 84 lakh creatures. This time I know my aim. I will do devotion and make my birth successful. The relationships here are the debts which each of us have to pay. This time I will get rid of this suffering. Shukadeva said
Ek leva ek deva dootam, koyi kaahu ka pita na pootam |
Rin sambandh juda ek thatha, ant samay sab bara bata ||
Shukadeva discussed this with his parents facing his back and flew into the Sky. With the battery charged of previous births, he gained the power to fly in the Sky. It is said
Ek siddhi aakashe udd jaye, ek siddhi jal per na laaye||
Ek siddhi kuch khave na peeve, ek siddhi jo bahu jug jeeve||
Note: God Kabir has said that the Gods in Kaal’s realm have only eight accomplishments maximum but with true devotion to Almighty Kabir the seeker gains 24 accomplishments. God also advises true devotees not to use these powers else the seeker will remain trapped in Kaal’s web. These accomplishments charge the soul which is needed to cross Kaal’s realm.
Lord Vishnu Refused Permitting Shukadeva To Enter In Vishnulok
Shukadeva had the power of accomplishments remaining from previous births. He flew with that. He did not make any Guru due to the same pride. Once he went to Vishnulok where the gatekeepers did not allow him to enter because he did not have any guru. When he insisted on meeting Satogun Shri Vishnu Ji then Shri Vishnu Ji came but expelled him from entering the Heaven of his realm (Vishnulok) and said ‘If you want a place here then take initiation from King Janak Mithlesh. A ‘Nigura’ has no place in his realm. This is the rule of God. Come after taking initiation from King Janak after acquiring him as your Guru and doing devotion.
In this context, it has been mentioned in Sacchidanand Ghan Brahm’s speech
Kabir, garbh yogeshwar guru bina, kartey Hari ki sev |
Kahaen Kabir baikunth se, fer diya Sukhdev ||
Sage Shukadeva Refused to acquire King Janak His Guru
Sukhdev was so proud of his accomplishments that he refused to accept King Janak his guru even when Lord Vishnu instructed him, saying no one on earth is worthy enough to be acquired as his guru. He is the only accomplished man on earth and he has come to Vishnulok by flying even without having any guru.
Moreover, King Janak is a family man. He has 10,000 queens whereas he is a great Sage/ an ascetic/ a recluse. A family man cannot be superior to an ascetic. How can he acquire King Janak as his guru?
Raja Janak grahasti Bhai, kaise sheesh niwaun jayee||
Sukhdev bole Shabad viveka, hum istri ka mukh nahi dekha||
Important- This is a huge trap of Satan Kaal. Sages/ Monks who do not marry consider the householder to be inferior to them and believe themselves superior. Due to Kaal’s inspiration these sages/ ascetics have the misconception that God is attained to only a recluse/ Yogi. A family man can never attain God. But in the light of true spiritual knowledge, it is understood that this is a myth. God is attained by doing true worship of Almighty Kabir after taking initiation from an enlightened saint. Everyone and anyone who does true devotion becomes eligible for the attainment of salvation. There is indeed no restriction of being a recluse/ monk/ sage/ saint/ householder or belonging to any gender.
When Sukhdev noticed no plea was working and Shri Vishnu Ji clearly refused him entering inside Vishnulok then he lowered his face and went out of grief.
Deities In Heaven Mocked At Shukadeva
With the accomplishments Sukhdev had, he used to fly in the Sky and used to go to Indralok, the common heaven. There the divinities used to give him due respect. Shukadev used to preach those deities. But after Shri Vishnu refused to permit him to enter Vishnulok, when this time he went to Indralok the deities like Kaagbhusand, Narad Muni etc. asked the reason for his grief and mocked him knowing Sukhdev had no guru.
Important: In the path of true devotion it is mandatory for seekers aspiring to attain God to acquire a guru else they remain deprived of attaining God, attaining emancipation.
The deities in Heaven told Shukadeva that today we are Gods. In case we don’t do devotion acquiring a Guru then tomorrow we will become a donkey, also will suffer in hell and 84 lacs life-forms.
Arbitrary Worship Led Sukadeva Suffer As Donkey
When Shukadeva heard the word donkey he was shocked. This is God’s mercy. It is said
Jo jaki Sharna base tako taki laaj||
Aur Jal sohi machli Chad jati, aur beh jate gajraj||
Meaning: Whichever seeker does devotion to whichever revered God and is fully determined, that respected deity surely showers mercy and helps the seeker of his level/ capability. Like, the fish has a special relationship with water. She is in its shelter. The moment the fish is taken out of water she suffocates hence, dies. No matter how strong the water flow may be, the fish easily swims in it and survives even if the flow is against her. Whereas a giant elephant drowns in the strong water flow of the waterfall because water and Elephant do not have a friendly relationship.
Lord Vishnu was the respected deity of Shukadev therefore, to set him so that his human birth should not be wasted, Shri Vishnu Ji showed him one of his births when Sukhdev was a donkey and suffered a lot. He had a miserable death when he became blind as once after the torture of his master he was left in the fields from where he walked alone beside the roadside and got stuck in a gutter. The passerby, instead of taking him out of the gutter, used him as a pulley to cross over. He remained hungry and thirsty for 7-10 days and had a miserable death.
Note: The memory of infinite births of souls in various bodies is stored in code words in his inner conscious which can be seen with the divine’s blessings
Shukadev suffered as a donkey doing arbitrary worship. Due to not finding a genuine guru/ Satguru/ Tatvadarshi saint, even great sages like Shukhdev had to suffer in the birth of the donkey. It has been mentioned in Sacchidanand Ghan Brahm’s speech
Phir peeche tu khar kijayega kuradi chugne jaaye. Tooti kamar pajave chadhe, tera kaga maas gilaaye.
Sukhdev ne 84 bhugati, kaha rank kaha raay. Aisi maya kalabali ki, Narad muni bharamaaye.
This is a huge Kaal’s trap which is exposed by Supreme God Kabir. This trap of butcher Brahm Kaal can only be broken by doing true devotion to Almighty Kabir.
Sage Ved Vyas Preached Sage Sukadeva Importance Of Guru In Human Life
Shukadeva went to his father Sage Ved Vyas to take his opinion on acquiring King Janak his guru since he wasn’t convinced of the same even after the instructions of Lord Vishnu. Shukadeva narrated the entire episode of his meeting with Lord Vishnu and God’s denial of permitting him to enter Vishnulok. Sage Ved Vyas scolded his son Shukadeva hearing that he has not made anyone his guru and is wasting his precious human birth.
Sage Ved Vyas got annoyed saying "when God has asked you to make King Janak your Guru why are you doing ‘ifs and buts’? You are a worthless person and not fit for doing devotion’.
Finally, Shukadeva agreed and went to King Janak to seek his refuge and request him to accept him as his disciple.
King Janak Set The Intellect Of Sukadeva Rishi
King Janak, a renowned personality of Tretayuga was the father-in-law of Lord Ram and was a steadfast devotee of Lord Vishnu. He had 10,000 queens. King Janak warmly greeted Sage Sukhdev and offered him a seat. King Janak told Sukhdev that he will give him initiation the next morning. King Janak also tested the loyalty of Sukhdev by allocating the responsibility to a maid to serve him and Sukhdev was found to be a Jati.
King Janak informed his first wife/ Queen, (Patrani) that one great sage named Sukhdev has come to take initiation from him. He is proud of his accomplishment of flying in the air. The next morning King Janak told her quern to boil water in a big cauldron for him to take a bath. The water was boiled till bubbles came (as is boiled for tea) and the eldest queen gave bath to King Janak by pouring that very hot water over his head and rubbing his body. Sukhdev was observing all that and got scared seeing how she could do it and none of the two are getting burnt.
King Janak said to Sukhdev, ‘O Son of Vyas! I am a householder. You are a child celibate. Come, dip your finger in the running water flowing in the gutter after I take a bath. I will accept you as a great sage/ Yogi’.
Fearful Sukhdev denied doing so. In this context, it has been mentioned in Sacchidanand Ghan Brahm’s speech
Raja vihans jab deyee tali, mujhe asnaan karave ek nari||
Aisa yog kamaya poota, kya bhaya jo indri doota||
Indri karam lagao kiske, jaise jivya lep nahi madhuras ke||
In this way, King Janak set the intellect of Sukhdev and fixed his pride. Then he preached to him and gave him initiation. Shukadev did devotion thereafter, he became eligible to attain Vishnulok/Heaven. It has been said in Suksham Veda
Raja Janak guru kiya, fir kinhi Har ki sev |
Kahaen Kabir Baikunth mein, chaley gaye Sukhdev ||
Note: The seekers in Kaal’s realm are aware only about heaven hence, believe it to be the final attainment which is a myth. Heaven is a temporary dwelling place. Seekers/ Devotees gone to heaven remain in recurrence. They come again in birth-death after completing their tenure and then go in 84 lacs life forms and suffer.
The permanent place for all souls is Satlok, the eternal abode where Almighty Kabir Himself resides. The creatures who attain salvation get a permanent place in Satlok having gone where they do not come back to this deceased world of Kaal. Satlok is the native place of all souls.
Shukadeva attained heaven with arbitrary worship after acquiring King Janak his guru but remained deprived of attaining complete salvation and did not reach eternal abode Satlok.
Shukadeva Rishi Did Welfare of King Parikshit
Ref: Devi Purana
There was one King named Parikshit who put a dead snake in the neck of a sage while he was in the state of deep meditation. The son of that sage got annoyed seeing his father had been insulted, hence, he cursed King Parikshit that a ‘Takshak’ snake will bite you and you will die on the seventh day’.
One sage Gautam knew the solution of curing a person from a snake’s bite. He said he will revive King Parikshit after the ‘Takshak’ snake will bite him. He thought the King would reward him with a lot of wealth.
It is a fact in the path of worship that at the end time, in whoever the creature has feelings for, he is attained to him only. Keeping this in view the near and dear ones usually decide that the path of Srimad Bhagavad Sudha Sagar should be recited to the person nearing death so that he gets detached from this ‘Mrityu Lok’ and gets attached to God so that his welfare happens.
With this viewpoint, several sages decided that the snake would sting King Parikshit on the seventh day and the path of Srimad Bhagavad Sudha Sagar should be done before that. But the question was who will narrate the tale? No one was capable enough to recite the tale including great luminaries like Maharishi Ved Vyas Ji, father of Shukadeva who was also the writer of Shrimad Bhagwat Sudha Sagar.
Being incapable of reciting the story no one dared because the result was to come on the seventh day and everyone was familiar with the law of nature therefore, fearing that they were not authorized then why ruin someone’s life?
Then Sage Sukhdev was called from heaven to recite the path of Srimad Bhagavad Sudha Sagar. He came in an aeroplane from heaven. Then King Parikshit became detached from this world and attained heaven. But the permanent policy of Kaal’s realm is that after enjoying in Heaven and completing the tenure each creature has to suffer in hell and 84 lacs life forms. This attainment is also possible by taking refuge in a complete guru of Kaal’s realm. Sage Sukhdev had the authority to recite the story therefore, he was chosen. Not all sages were authorized. Through Sukhdev's recitation of Srimad Bhagavad Sudha Sagar, the attainment of King Parikshit was temporary till heaven.
The point is, to attain complete salvation means to get liberated from Kaal’s web only the genuine saint/ enlightened saint/ Tatvadarshi sant is required who knows the essence of Supreme God and tells true spiritual knowledge so that following his preaching makes souls eligible for attainment of Satlok.
Important: Today Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is the only authorized saint on earth who is imparting true spiritual knowledge and granting scriptures-based devotion and true salvation mantras which will lead souls to attain emancipation.
Arbitrary Worship Led Shukadeva to Remain Trapped In Kaal’s Web
Brahm Kaal does not spare any creature be it in any life form. He is such a devil that he does not spare even his sons Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. All remain prey to him and suffer in 84 lacs life forms. Sage Sukhdev was no exception. He also bears the same torture as proved by the aforementioned. Here, Supreme God Kabir Sahib warns the creatures that when a great Sage like Shukadeva becomes a donkey practising arbitrarily then what is your worth? O human! follow the true path of devotion as told by an enlightened saint and do true devotion to attain salvation.
Whom will this Kaalbali/ Satan Brahm Kaal spare? He has caused misery to all sages/ saints. None of them could be liberated from his trap as respected Sant Garibdas Ji Maharaj says in his nectar speech mentioned in Sukshma Veda
Vaar hi Gorakh, vaar hi Dutt (Dattatreya), vaar hi Dhruv Prahlad arth||
Vaar hi Sukhdev, vaar hi Vyaas, vaar hi Paraasur Prakash||
All these great devotees are wandering in Kaal’s world and waiting to get rid of his trap.
Who could have provided salvation to Sage Sukadeva?
Almighty Kabir is God of God’s. He is the provider of salvation. Had Sage Sukhadeva performed the true devotion of Almighty Kabir instead of Satan Brahm Kaal he would have attained salvation. Although on Lord Vishnu’s recommendation, he made King Janak his guru but he wasn’t a complete guru.
Shukadev’s hard luck was he did not find a true guru/ Satguru/ Tatvadarshi Sant who is the representative of Param Akshar Brahm/ Satpurush, therefore, he failed in attaining the sole purpose of human life which is attaining emancipation by doing true devotion.
Ref: Sumiran Ka Ang’ Speech no. 71-87 mentioned in Sukshma Veda glorifies the same Param Akshar Brahm/ Satpurush Kabir Sahib, the provider of emancipation.
Speech no 71 to 76:-
Garib, Aisa Ram agadh hai, avinashi gahir gambhir। Gadi jeevon se door hai, be hadiyon ki teet।।71।।
Garib, Aisa Ram agadh hai, Be keemat Kartar। Ses sahansphuni ratat hai, Ajahunna paya paar।।72।।
Garib, Aisa Ram agadh hai, aprampaar athah। Urme kirtan khayal hai, maule alakh Allah।।73।।
GarIb, Aisa Ram agadh hai, nirbhay nihchal theer। Anhad naad akhand hai, naad akhand dhuni, nadi bina sareer।।74।।
Garib, Aisa Ram agadh hai, bajigar bhagwant। Nirbandh nirmat dekhiya, vaar paar nahi ant।।75।।
Garib, Paar Brahm bin parakh hai, keemat mole na tole। Bina ujan anuraag hai, bahurangi anmol।।76।।
Meaning- The complete God is such ‘Agam’ Ram means the very first one (Agadh) is supreme, immortal, very deep, calm (is filled deep with powers like the ocean). He is far from those creatures (who belong to the territory of Kaal and are dependent on the same Kaal). They do not know about him therefore, they do not get any benefit from that eternal God. The knowers of extreme means who know that most powerful God, that God is with them (71)
That God is precious (priceless) like a Philosopher's stone. To attain that God, Sheshnaag chanting that scriptural mantra means mantra of Ram with one thousand (Sahanstra) mouths. He hasn’t got to know the origin of that eternal God till today. (72)
God is equipped with infinite/ Immeasurable powers like an ocean. Due to a lack of true spiritual knowledge and with their imagination, every sage-deity considers in their heart, the Almighty ‘Alakh Allah’ to be formless (one who is not seen) (73)
That God is immovable means indestructible, and fearless. ‘Theer’ also means immovable means still.
Note: Such double words are used in verses to complete the verses and ragas.
A continuous sound resonates in the realm of that Almighty. The body of God is not of nerves made up of five elements. (74)
God does amazing miracles like a ‘Bazigar’, Omnipotent (there is no limit to whose power) and is pure. He possesses infinite powers. Satpurush, to whom other Gurus and sages call Alakh Allah (formless God). They have not attained God. I (Sant Garibdas Ji) have seen this (75)
No one identifies Paar Brahm God. What description can be done of His price and weight (value)? I have the love of His attainment by listening to His glory. He is multi-talented.
Like, He became a weaver in Kashi (Dhanak). He met me (Sant Garibdas Ji) in Jinda Baba form and was seen sitting as Satpurush in Satlok. In this way, he is called ‘Bahurangi’ (76)
Speech no.. 77 - 87:-
Garib, mahima avigat naam ki, janat birle sant। Aath pehar dhuni dhyan hai, Muni Jan raten anant।।77।।
Garib, Chand soor Pani pawan, dharni dhaul akaas। Panch tat haajri khade, Khijmatida khwaas।।78।।
Garib, Kaal karam kare bandagi, Mahakaal ardas। Mun Maya aru Dharamrai, sab sir naam upas।।79।।
Garib Kaal dare Kartaar se, mun Maya ka naas। Chandan ung palte sabe, ek Khali reh gaya baans।।80।।
Garib, sajan salona Ram hai, Abigat anyat na jaaye। Bahur bheetar ek hai, sab ghat raha sanaye।। 81।।
Garib, sajan salona Ram hai, achal abhangi ek। Aadi unt Jake nahi, Jyon ka tyonhi dekh।।82।।
Garib, sajan Ram hai, Achal abhangi ain। Mahima kahi na jaat hai, bole madhure bain।।83।।
Garib, sajan salona Ram hai, achal abhangi aadi। Satguru marham taska, sakhi Bharat sab saadh।।84।।
Garib, sajan salona Ram hai, achal abhangi peer। Charan kamal Hansa rahe, hum hai damangir।।85।।
Garib, sajan salona Ram hai, achal abhangi aap। Hud behad se agam hai japo ajapa jaap।।86।।
Garib, Aisa bhagli jogiya, Janat hai sab khel। Been bajave Mohini, jug jantra sab mail।।87।।
Meaning Infinite sages are cramming (chanting) arbitrary mantras to attain that Supreme God. But rare Saints know that immortal/ divine mantra and His glory. (77)
All the five elements (Sky, Air, Fire, Water and Earth) function with His order. They are the servants of God Kabir. (78)
Brahm Kaal politely worships that God ie. Prays obeisance and prays for His mercy (Karam) and Mahakaal (Akshar Purush) is also running his realm by praying to the Supreme God.
Mind (Kaal Brahm), Maya (Goddess Durga) and Dharamraj (Chief Justice of Kaal) everyone has to do devotion meaning it's mandatory for them to worship Param Akshar Brahm then only their position remains safe. (79)
Note:– Akshar Purush has been called Mahakaal because when his one day which is of one thousand Eras finishes then one universe, Kaal Brahm along with Durga also destroys. All creatures are kept in the realm of Akshar Purush. When Jyoti Niranjan is in the 21st universe, at that time, he is also called Mahakaal.
Jyoti Niranjan Kaal also fears God Kabir. Due to chanting the divine mantras of God the vices do not crop up in mind and the illusion destroys means the nature to accumulate worldly materials finishes.
The impact of preaching the spiritual knowledge of God is in good souls means only on creatures having auspicious sacraments of previous births who obtain human bodies after renouncing bodies of other beings (Dog-Donkey, Pig). The effect of the words of discourses does not happen fast on them. The example has been given as there are forests of Sandalwood trees. Around them are also other trees of Neem, Acacia, Mango, Rose Wood etc. and even Bamboo grows. The other trees around absorb the fragrance of Sandal and become fragrant-like Sandal but there is no effect of the fragrance of Sandal on Bamboo. (80)
From speech no. 81 till 87 there is similar knowledge. God’s glory has been told in a general way. That God is a gentleman means is like a noble human being. ‘Avigat’ means divine (Don’t go anywhere else) do not go to several places in His search. He will be attained through Satguru. The power of God is the same both outside means outside the body as well as inside the body. He pervades the body of everyone. (81)
‘Achal’, Eternal/ Permanent ‘Abhangi’ which never breaks means immortal. He is one God. (Param Akshar Brahm. He does not have a beginning (birth) and end (death). He looks as it is since time immemorial. You also practice, and see Him. (82)
No one can tell the complete glory of that immortal noble Supreme God because He, in reality, is an indestructible and immortal God. When He met me (Sant Garibdas Ji) He spoke in a very loving language. (Madhure means sweet, and bain means words) (83)
Only a Satguru/ Enlightened saint knows the secret/ deep knowledge of that immortal Supreme God. All saints are witness to this. (84)
The Hans souls who have attained salvation remain at the feet of that noble God (Auspicious sight means whose audience gives happiness) immortal Ram who appears in the form of Peer means Guru. I (Sant Garibdas Ji) am in a relationship with that God like the relationship is of bodice and hem means I am very close to that God. (85)
That indestructible noble God whose sight is so auspicious, that Ram/ God Kabir originally resides beyond ‘Had’ (Kaal’s territory) ‘Behad’ (within Satlok’s range) in Akahlok. Take initiation from a Satguru to attain Him and chant ‘Ajappa Jaap’ (inhale-exhale), remember Him (86)
That God is such a ‘Bhagligar’ (Magician), Sage (yogi=who appears as sage/saint) who knows all games like how creatures were created? How did they get trapped in Kaal’s web? How has Kaal made them blind in ignorance? What is the intention of Kaal to keep creatures trapped in his web? (Kaal has to eat one lac subtle human bodies every day) How can a creature be liberated from Kaal’s trap? ‘Been bajave Mohini’ means how Kaal inspired beautiful women, they attracted devotees by speaking sweetly. The meaning of playing the flute is that as the snake charmer plays the flute to control the snake similarly, with Kaal’s order the beautiful angels trap the seekers in their web by singing melodious songs. They attract them with all their methods and gestures which means to trap the creatures by the combination of all attractions. (87)
(Jog Jugat means to connect with oneself means trying to connect them with themselves. ‘Jantra’ means they also do spiritual activities. This is also called doing spell charm)
As aforementioned, the glory of Almighty Kabir Sahib certifies He is Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent. Only his true devotion liberates souls from the trap of butcher Brahm Kaal on which Sage Shukadeva badly failed because he did not hear Tatvagyan from a real saint as respected Sant Garibdas Das Ji Maharaj has said in his nectar speech
Tattva gyaan nahi Sukhdev kaha Rai jhoomkara||
Nahi Vishwamitra Vashishth suno Rai jhoomkara||
Due to this he became a donkey and suffered in 84 lakh life forms and hell.
The speech mentioned in Sukshma Veda certifies that Sukhdev did not attain the eternal abode of Almighty Kabir which is far above the world of Brahm Kaal and he is still wandering here.
Jat kundal oopar aasan hai, Satguru ki sail suno bhai. Jahaan Dhruv Prahlad nahi pahunche Sukhdev koon marag naa paai.
Narad Muni niratay rahe, Datt Gorakh se ko suchcha hai. Badi sail adham sultan kari, Satguru takiya tuk ooncha hai.
In this speech, Respected Sant Garibdas Ji Maharaj asks where the happiness-giving Supreme God resides and who is the provider of emancipation.
Koi hai re parle paar ka, jo bhed kahe jhankar ka||
He is none other than Satpurush Kabir Sahib, the creator of entire universes.

This speech tells the origin of Sukhdev Rishi, how he gained the accomplishment of flying in the Sky and what was the result of his pride. Sukhdev attained only heaven with the practice he performed and wasn’t completely liberated from Kaal’s web. This speech also clarified that Sukhdev would have been liberated by doing devotion to God Kabir.
Yet in another speech, Sant Garibdas Ji glorifies sincere devotee Sukhdev

Respected Sant Garibdas Ji Maharaj has glorified firm devotees Sukhdev, Dhruv, Prahlad, and King Janak saying these great men/ steadfast devotees deserve honour and appreciation.

God Kabir’s Advice To Suffering Souls Like Sukhdev
Noticing the misery the souls suffer in Kaal’s world as Sage Sukhdev suffered, Almighty Kabir tells all his beloved souls to return to the happiness abode, Satlok.
Chal hansa Satlok hamare chhodo yo sansara ho||
Is sansar ka kaal hai Raja Maya jaal pasaara ho||
Chaudah khand jaake mukh mein basat hain, sabka karat aahaara ho||
Jaar-baar koyla kar daare, phir phir de avatara ho||
Brahma Vishnu Shiv tan dhariya, aur ka kaun vichaara ho||
Sur nar muni jan sab chhal bal maare, chaurasi mein dara ho|| Madhya aakash aap jahan baitha, jyoti swaroop ujiyaara ho||
Wake paar ek aur nagar hai, jahan barse amrit dhaara ho|| Swet swaroop phool jahan phoole, hansa karat vihara ho||
Conclusion
The conclusion. drawn from the true tale of Sage Sukhdev is, that had Sage Sukhdev known about true devotion and Satlok he would not have thought of attaining Heaven. It was due to not finding a genuine saint.
Respected Sant Garibdas Ji tells the importance of Satguru
Gorakh se gyani ghane aur Sukhdev jati jihan||
Sita si bahu bharya, sant door asthaan||
Meaning: A lot of perfect men like Gorakhnath will be found, a loyal (Jati) man like Sukhdev will be found easily who lived with noble behaviour, even loyal wives/ sisters like Sita are in abundance but a true guru/ Saint is rare to find
Today Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is the only Satguru on earth whose shelter provides seekers with all happiness in this life as well as the afterlife so without any delay all must take his refuge and unlike Shukadeva Rishi should not waste their precious human birth in doing unscriptural devotion, for the aim of humans is the attainment of salvation.
FAQs : "Why the Great Sage Shukadeva Failed To Attain Salvation?"
Q.1 Who was Shukadeva?
Shukadeva was a great sage and a devotee of Lord Vishnu during Tretayuga. He was the son of Vatika and the great sage Ved Vyas, who wrote the four Vedas and Puranas. Shukadeva was a contemporary of King Janak, Sita's father and Shri Ramchandra's father-in-law, during the Treta Yuga.
Q.2 Why did Lord Vishnu refuse to allow Shukadeva into Vishnulok?
Shukadeva attempted to enter Vishnulok, but the gatekeepers denied his entry because he did not have a guru. Lord Vishnu then appeared and confirmed that Shukadeva could not enter without first taking initiation from King Janak and acquiring him as his guru.
Q.3 Why did Shukadeva initially refuse to accept King Janak as his guru?
Shukadeva was proud of his spiritual accomplishments, believing he was the only accomplished man on earth. He argued that a householder like King Janak, who had 10,000 queens, could not be superior to an ascetic like himself, and therefore could not be his guru.
Q.4 Why couldn't King Janak help Shukadeva attain salvation?
Although King Janak was a devout follower of Lord Vishnu, but he wasn't a complete guru. While accepting King Janak as his guru allowed Shukadeva to enter heaven, this didn't result in permanent liberation. Our Holy scriptures suggest that only a true guru who understands the true nature of the Supreme God can guide devotees toward salvation.
Q.5 How did Shukadeva help King Parikshit?
King Parikshit was cursed to die from a snake bite. The solution was to have someone recite the Srimad Bhagavad Sudha Sagar to him before his death. However, no one was capable of reciting the entire text, except for Shukadeva, who was summoned from heaven for this task. His recitation helped King Parikshit detach from the world and attain heaven.
Q.6. Could Shukadeva have attained salvation?
Yes, if Shukadeva had performed true devotion to Almighty Kabir, instead of arbitrary worship, he could have attained salvation. Unfortunately, he did not find a true guru or Tatvadarshi Sant who could have guided him to the true path of worship.

This article seems to be using the story of Shukadeva to promote a specific religious leader. While the story is interesting, the claims that Shukadeva's spiritual journey was a failure because he didn't worship the "right" god feel biased and disrespectful to other belief systems.
Satlok Ashram
Dear reader, we value your opinion on our article. The article doesn't intend to disrespect any belief system. It simply seeks to clarify the true path to salvation, which, as the scriptures reveal, involves worshipping the Supreme God Kabir. Shukadeva, despite his accomplishments, was misled by arbitrary worship practices that didn't align with the Vedas. His story is a cautionary tale, highlighting the importance of finding a true guru who can guide devotees to the correct path. Only then can one escape the cycle of birth and death and attain true liberation. For more information, we will recommend you to read the book Gyan Ganga and listen to spiritual discourses of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.
