Who was Sant Dadu Dayal?
Dadu Dayal hailed from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India was a mystic poet and sant who glorified God Kabir in his teachings stating Supreme God is the one and only Kabir Sahib who is all-powerful. His followers were called ‘Dadunavasi’.

When respected Dadu Sahib Ji was a seven-year-old child then complete God KavirDev descended from Satlok in full body to this deceased realm and met him in the form of Jinda Mahatma. (In one of the books of the Dadu sect it has been written that Almighty Kabir met him at the age of eleven years).
At that time many other children of the same age were also playing. God provided him with information about Param Akshar Purush, the creator of entire universes and told Dadu Ji that ‘Son, you should do devotion to God. Just like the grandfather and grandmother tell stories to kids similarly Dadu Ji listened with full affection. Then Dadu Ji asked ‘Baba Ji, where have you come from? You are looking so loving to me. Who are you, Baba? Take me also along with you. God Kabir said ‘I have come from Satlok. My name is Kabir and I live in Kashi’.
Dadu Ji said ‘Baba, you keep me along with you’. God Kabir said first you take name initiation (Naam Diksha or Naam Daan). Dadu Ji agreed and said ‘You are telling me that there is no birth and death, no sorrow, take me there. Then Kabir Saheb gave some nectar water in a betel leaf from his ‘Karmandal’ (vessel) to drink and after providing the first mantra He took him to Satlok. Dadu Ji remained unconscious (In a coma) for three days and nights.
The children who were playing with Dadu Ji came to the village and told that an old man came and gave enchanted water to Dadu to drink. Kabir Saheb left some breaths in the body of Dadu Ji therefore, his family members did not cremate him. God Kabir took the soul of Dadu Ji to Satlok. On the third day when the soul of Dadu Ji came back, then he glorified Kabir Sahib.
He wandered and cried saying ‘Old Baba gave the audience. One day he went to the Sabarmati river and said ‘O Lord, appear to me else today your servant will commit suicide’. Thinking this he fixed a duration that till this time I will remain alive else I will drown and die in this Sabarmati river. When that time was over and God did not appear then he jumped into the river. God Kabir took him out and was seen by Dadu Ji in the same old Baba form and said ‘Son, I am the same Kabir who showed you Satlok’. God Kabir kept appearing to him even after that and liberated him after providing Satnam and Sarnam.

Meaning: In this speech, Sant Garibdas Ji Maharaj says that like me God Kabir gave an audience to Sant Nanak Ji and Sant Dadu Ji. Both these saints were ‘Agam agadhoo’ (perfect) and were authorised for devotion beyond Kaal Brahm. God Kabir is the one who sways the devotional forms of both Nanak Ji and Dadu Ji. It is said that both these respected Hans souls are the residents of Satlok and have come from there where the ocean of happiness flows. Their heart longed for precious devotion meaning these Hans souls were authorised for true devotion. Therefore, God Himself came and met them.
